Bridal Makeup Timeline in New York
Good makeup on a wedding day depends on good timing. Here is a realistic schedule from booking to the last touch-up.
Six to Twelve Months Out
Reserve your makeup artist once the date is set. For weddings abroad or in peak season, earlier is better. Confirm travel and on-location arrangements at this stage.
Two Months Before
Hold the trial, finalise the look and decide on lashes and the touch-up plan. Take photos in different lighting and make any adjustments while there is still time.
Wedding Morning
Plan roughly 60 to 90 minutes for the bride and 30 to 45 minutes for each member of the bridal party. Schedule the bride so her makeup is freshest for the first photographs, and add a buffer for the unexpected.
From Ceremony to Reception
Photographs often begin one to two hours before the ceremony, so build the schedule backwards from that time. For long days, plan a short touch-up before the reception or keep an artist on location.
